What type of flooring can an overlay go on?
Any concrete or timber substrate provided it is well held
down by glue or screws.
What colours are there to choose from?
There are a large range of colours available. We can also
mix various colours to come up your own colour to complement
your furnishings.
How thick does the overlay need to be?
Varies depending on the floor it is laid on, anywhere between
3mm and 20mm.
How strong is it?
It is three times as strong as concrete.
Does it peel?
No, provided the substrate it is laid on is sound. The only
way to remove it is with grinding or by using a kango hammer.
Does it crack?
Only if there is movement in the substrate it is laid on.
Will the colour fade?
No, although the colour may vary slightly with time.
How do I maintain the floor?
Interior: Maintain as you would a normal linoleum or timber
floor. The floor can be cleaned using a mixture of methylated
spirits and water. Wax as required.
Exterior: Clean with a hose or a waterblaster. The concrete
overlay will need to be recoated or resealed in a minimum of
five years, depending on the use.
What types of patterns/finishes are available?
There are a variety of options available. If the overlay is
to be ground coloured stones and/or glass can be added. Inlays
are also an option. Patterns can be stenciled, taped or scribed
into the overlay.
